CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
PUBLISHING AND WEB DESIGN
1.0 Introduction
Publishing
What is Publishing? Publishing is the process of production and dissemination of literature, music, or information the activity of making information available to the general public. In some cases, authors may be their own publishers, meaning: originators and developers of content also provide media to deliver and display the content for the same.
Web Design
What is Web Design? Design is the process of collecting ideas, and aesthetically arranging and implementing them, guided by certain principles for a specific purpose. Web design is a similar process of creation, with the intention of presenting the content on electronic web pages, which the end-users can access through the internet with the help of a web browser. In the subject matter of the website, I created a website about myself with "home, about me, artwork, galleries and contacts”. Before creating a website, I designed the concept for a website to know what design you wanted on that site. My webpage concept is “minimalist”. Minimalist is a very simple concept with soft colors, fonts that fit the simple concept.
1.1 Research Background
PUBLISHING
A publisher requires three things to publish content on the Internet:
1) Website development software
2) Internet connection
3) A web server to host the website
WEB DESIGN
Element of Web Design
1) Layout
2) Colour
3) Graphics
4) Fonts
5) Content
Layout: This is the way the graphics, ads and text are arranged. In the web world, a key goal is to help the view find the information they seek at a glance. This includes maintaining the balance, consistency, and integrity of the design.
Colour: The choice of colours depends on the purpose and clientele; it could be simple black-and-white to multi-coloured design, conveying the personality of a person or the brand of an organization, using web-safe colours.
Graphics: Graphics can include logos, photos, clipart or icons, all of which enhance the web design. For user friendliness, these need to be placed appropriately, working with the colour and content of the web page, while not making it too congested or slow to load.
Fonts: The use of various fonts can enhance a website design. Most web browsers can only read a select number of fonts, known as “web-safe fonts”, so your designer will generally work within this widely accepted group.
Content: Content and design can work together to enhance the message of the site through visuals and text. Written text should always be relevant and useful, so as not to confuse the reader and to give them what they want so they will remain on the site. Content should be optimized for search engines and be of a suitable length, incorporating relevant keywords.
1.3 Problem Statements
Ø The Problem Statement I found was a weakness in finding the right concept, so I learned a lot from the lecturers and was able to solve the problem.
1.4 Research Questions
1) What are your goals for this project?
2) Who is your target audience?
3) How long did you make this website?
1.5 Objectives
Ø It gives people enough information and also they can find out more about the website we want to deliver.
1.6 Scope
Ø Company
Ø Internship
Ø Lecturer
Ø Public
1.7 Limitations
Ø In English language.
1.8 Delimitations
Ø Easy language for people to understand in English and good in English.
1.9 Significance of Study
Ø According to my research, nowadays, people love to look on any website to see the latest info. In addition, it is important for their website to attract their attention and they are also more aware of the important information with which we publish.
CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW
2.0 Web Design
Ø Web design is a similar process of creation, with the intention of presenting the content on electronic web pages, which the end-users can access through the internet with the help of a web browser. In the subject matter of the website, I created a website about myself with "home, about me, artwork, galleries and contacts”.
2.1 Web Portfolio
Ø Portfolio sites are freelancer (or company) customer extensions. It provides an easy way for potential customers to see their work while also enabling them to develop skills and services. Web portfolios are our own work and are posted on our own website for people to view published work.
CHAPTER 3: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
3.0 ADDIE Method
The ADDIE model is the generic process traditionally used by instructional designers and training developers. The five phases Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation represent a dynamic, flexible guideline for building effective training and performance support tools. In the ADDIE model, each step has an outcome that feeds into the subsequent step.
3.1 Project Management Timeline
Figure 1: Project Timeline
Analysis Phase
In the analysis phase, instructional problem is clarified, the instructional goals and objectives are established and the learning environment and learner’s existing knowledge and skills are identified. Below are some of the questions that are addressed during the analysis phase:
Ø Who is the audience and their characteristics?
Ø Identify the new behavioral outcome?
Ø What types of learning constraints exist?
Ø What are the delivery options?
Ø What are the online pedagogical considerations?
Ø What is the timeline for project completion?
Design Phase
The design phase deals with learning objectives, assessment instruments, exercises, content, subject matter analysis, lesson planning and media selection. These are steps used for the design phase:
Ø Documentation of the project’s instructional, visual and technical design strategy.
Ø Apply instructional strategies according to the intended behavioral outcomes by domain (cognitive, affective, psychomotor).
Ø Create Storyboards.
Ø Design the user interface and user experience.
Ø Prototype creation.
Ø Apply visual design (graphic design).
Development Phase
The development phase is where the developers create and assemble the content assets that were created in the design phase.
Implementation Phase
During the implementation phase, a procedure for training the facilitators and the learners is developed. The facilitators’ training should cover the course curriculum, learning outcomes, method of delivery, and testing procedures.
This is also the phase where the project manager ensures that the books, hands on equipment, tools, CD-ROMs and software are in place, and that the learning application or Web site is functional.
Evaluation Phase
The evaluation phase consists of two parts: formative and summative. Formative evaluation is present in each stage of the ADDIE process. Summative evaluation consists of tests designed for domain specific criterion-related referenced items and providing opportunities for feedback from the users.
CHAPTER 4: DESIGN PROCESS
4.0 Web Research
Web research is the research I look for in a web site related to my project, my personal personality website. The research of the site I was looking for was personal, that is, I had to find information related to it home, about, artwork, gallery and contact. In the web site I was looking for, there was absolutely nothing about the personality of the site, but I was looking for ways and ideas they made on the site. The site I was looking for was also full of minimalist concepts that were simple, clean and color-matched to the concept I wanted. There I also come up with interesting ideas for the design of my website.

I use color white because minimalist more to white color and I combine it with soft color like blue and more color soft that what you look in my concept in the below.
